Today I had the extreme privilege of taking Benson and Honor's engagement photos. They are such a cute and FUN couple! I look forward to doing their wedding in a couple of months. We took the pictures downtown in Salt Lake City at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, a little side note here - Benson and I used to work in this very building several years ago! Anyway, the weather was cold and snowy, the streets were a wreck, but we managed through it all. Here's a few of my favorites.

My little guy LOVES Perry from Phineas & Ferb (Disney show). I have a friend in California that crotches REALLY well and does little characters and figures for people, so I commissioned her to make me a Perry doll. She did and it's adorable! She did this without a pattern!

This is the first photo shoot of a family I've done that have had no children under the age of 5! It was WAY easier! I couldn't believe how quickly it passed! I love little children don't get me wrong, they just have their own little challenges :) Anyway, we too these pictures at the West Jordan Conservation Garden which is becoming one of my favorite places to shoot. Pumpkin Patch!

Tonight we went to a local farm to get some pumpkins! It was a lot of fun and a place we'll visit again. It always makes me happy inside to support a local farmer. The place we went to sells jams, eggs, meat, salsa and lots of produce. I'm going to have to stop there more often . . . Anyway, we had our niece Hailey with us - no she's not ours, don't be alarmed. Lincoln got to pick out a nice "smooth" one and Dustin picked out a fun "warty" one. Afterwards we went to a Chinese restaurant that was pretty good - fun family night!

That's REALLY the color of these pumpkins, cool huh?

I tried to get Lincoln to give me an "ewww face" next to this "warty" pumpkin - this is what I got.

My Family Portrait Session

We had our family pictures taken on Saturday. Jessica Price, another local photographer and I traded services and did each others portraits. It was fun and interesting getting all the kids and husbands to cooperate. I keep saying that we'll get these done "when I lose more weight". Well, I've been saying that for years, so I might as well get it done now.

Lincoln + Airplanes

Last Christmas, Lincoln got a flight jacket from his grandparents. It's the COOLEST jacket and I doubt it'll last all winter because it's getting small. I had planned earlier to take Lincoln to an airport so I could do a photo shoot with him in his jacket. Today, in Roy the Hill Aerospace Museum had a food donation drive AND for bringing food you could get up inside of several airplanes. Dustin has wanted to do this, so it was the perfect opportunity! It's soooo much harder getting your own child to cooperate in front of the camera . . . I had Dustin try and help, but it was just frustrating. However, I feel we got some good ones!

My family and I went to Yellowstone almost two weeks ago. My husband and his family have been before, but I never have. Can I just say WOW! Yellowstone is so beautiful! I've seen several photographers use a diptych on their blogs to help fit more pictures in and it's a fun way to tell a story. I finally have a diptych template and wanted to try it out. I had the AMAZING opportunity to shoot at a studio for FREE! My friend Jessica Price invited me to her friends studio. Alisha Stamper is a local photographer who has a studio and lent it out today for moms to come take pictures of their little kids with their own cameras. Last weekend was CRAZY! My dad and I did two weddings back-to-back. Not only did we do that but both of us were sicker than dogs. Last weekend we decided to do our big group family pictures. The weather was a bit iffy, but luckily it held. We went to the lake at Daybreak in South Jordan. First, I have a bit of a complaint to make. I'm new in the photography biz and so I don't know all of the "cool" spots to take pictures. I emailed a couple of local photographers asking if they could help me out and tell me a place or two. The response? NOTHING. Come on!! Like all their places are 'original'. I've seen local photographers use the same places many times, but will anyone share that info? I make a promise right now that I will make a catalog of good places to take pictures, shouldn't we photographers help a brother/sister out? Okay, I'm done.

I took some pictures for an old mission companion of mine and had a lot of fun with her kids. She also brought along her sisters kids and all four of them were just adorable! I really enjoyed taking their pictures. Here's a sampling from this session.

My dad photographed a wedding last week and so I packed myself and Lincoln up in the car and drove down so that I could shadow him and learn a little more about photography. The day was PERFECT and the couple were AMAZING. I had a great time and I want to thank Ramon and Bonesheeqwa (they made up the names), for allowing me to post some of their photos on my blog. First off let me say it was EXTREMELY difficult picking and choosing between pictures. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that my photography skills are so amazing that I have BILLIONS of good photos. No, the subject matter at Arches National Park and Dead Horse Point Park were AMAZING! I loved every minute I had with my camera and family of course. Today I had the opportunity to take pictures of two different families. The "M" family pictures were taken this morning at Wheeler Farm. It was perfect weather and a cute family too! Free Picture Sessions for Friends and Family

Who can resist free pictures?! I certainly couldn't. There may be more of you interested then times that I will be doing this. If that's the case I will open up another day, but so far I will start with two Saturdays at the end of March and two times both days. I've also included a few spots that I thought would be nice places, if you have any other suggestions please let me know. The sessions will be first come first serve, so email me (triciabagley@gmail.com) and let me know what day and time. If there are special circumstances and you need to do a different day and time please indicate that as well. During the week is hard, but if given enough notice I could arrange to have someone watch Lincoln.

There is a housing development not far from where I live and it has a lot of photo opportunities. There is a man-made lake, vacant lots, and a higher elevation for good city scape pictures. My loving husband lets me use Saturday mornings to go out and take pictures, it's nice to have a little bit of me time.
