The Flying Fortress

This last weekend we were surprised and excited to see the B-17 making several flights around the valley. This year, the Memphis Belle celebrates it's 70th year as a bomber that completed it's assigned 25 missions. The sad thing is that the plane that it flying around is not the real Memphis Belle, that one is still working on being restored. However, the B-17 that is flying around is from the movie Memphis Belle, which is one of my husbands favorites. He grew up watching that movie, so it was neat to see it up close.

Sunday morning we went to the South Valley Regional Airport in West Jordan and watched the B-17 make several take offs and landings. I'm not much of a war buff, but I do enjoy looking at a cool plane or two :)
